Brand-New C8 Corvettes Destroyed in Transport Fire!

Last Updated: October 11, 2021By Tags: , ,

One of the most popular—hence, highest-selling—new cars these days are Chevrolet’s new mid-engine C8 Corvette. They are in short supply at dealers, and there are hot rodders out there who have been waiting a long time for their special orders to be assembled and delivered to their dealerships. Well, the supply just went down and, sadly, we would guess that someone’s long-awaited order just went up in smoke on October 5, 2021.

transport truck, stuffed full of C8 Corvettes, caught fire just outside of Nashville, Tennessee, and it looks like more than a few of the C8s were total losses. This was fairly close to where the Corvettes are made in Bowling Green, Kentucky, so the carrier was full, but it looks like firefighters saved around half the cars on the truck. Still, at over $80,000 per a unit, this wasn’t great news for Chevrolet’s insurance carrier.

We heard the driver escaped unharmed, and going by the online video shot by Joseph Evans, it looks like the fire started with the truck after the driver pulled over to check on some sort of issue.

We saw these images posted on Corvette World Houston’s Facebook page, and all those burnt-up, burning C8 Corvettes just brings us to tears. If you’ve been patiently waiting for your C8 order to show up, and the delivery was just days away, you might want to call your dealership.
