The star of the first chase scene from this summer’s best car movie, “Baby Driver” — a 2006 Subaru Impreza WRX — sold on eBay for well more than a brand new WRX STI. The rear-wheel drive converted movie car hammered away for $69,100. For a non-movie car with 158K miles on the odometer, that would be an outrageous price. However, since it had a featured role in the film, and subsequent music video for “Chase Me” by Danger Mouse that features Run the Jewels, it almost justifies the price.

Aside from the obvious modifications involved in converting this all-wheel drive WRX into a rear-wheel drive car, the car received a bigger turbocharger from a WRX STI. The upgraded rear differential should manage the power from that extra boost fed into the boxer engine. With this much money thrown around, we doubt the car will see too many more miles or stunts. Of the five cars reportedly built by All Pro Subaru for the movie, only three are still out and about.
