A M650d xDrive also may be sin the works but almost surely won’t be offering in the United States. This model is supposed to be coming with BMW’s quad-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-6 diesel, good for about 394 hp and 561 lb-ft of torque.
Interesting but, Motor.es reports that BMW is offering three different plug-in hybrids at least. They will allegedly involve 630e, 640e and 650e iPerformance models. The 630e should accentuate the 248-hp powertrain of the 530e and the 640e should get the 322-hp setup of the 740e. It’s not clear what are BMW’s plans for the 650e but it may be a version of the Power eDrive system that they presented in 2014.
Look for the presentation of the 6-Series GT that will happen around mid-2017. Key competitors are the Audi A7, Mercedes-Benz E-Class Wagon and Volvo V90.
