The German producers aren’t ordinary at the annual SEMA tuning fest in Las Vegas. The flow is switching as BMW has been showing up these years to present the latest good from its M Performance catalog. BMW even marked the North American debut of its M2 on 2015’s show.
For 2016, most of attention is on the M3 and M4. The peak is an aerodynamics package for sports sedan – the M3 . The package involves a rear wing that’s made completely from carbon fiber. It involves its side parts and support brackets.

BMW will also reveal new coilover suspension for the M3 and M4. Also a new light alloy wheel made for the M3 and M4 so as the M2. The suspension enables the driver to lower the car’s ride. Which means height between 5 and 20 millimeters via the customizing spring plate. It lowers the center of gravity of the car effectively.
They are doing some engine upgrades. There’s something new to the North American market – the M Performance Power & Sound Kit. It’s made for the 340i and 440i (involving xDrive versions). It raise the power while upgrading the exhaust note via an ECU tune and electronically-controlled exhaust valve.
With the kit, the turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-6 of the 340i and 440i delivers 355 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque, up 35 hp and 39 lb-ft. That’s why the engine is faster. Response also as noticeably upgraded acceleration across the entire engine speed range. Enables a 0-60 mph sprint 0.2 seconds faster than stock.
The final item that is worth mentioning is a climate control system and remote engine starter. With the system installed, you’ can have the engine and cabin warm and cosy for cold winter days before you leave the house. If the vehicle doesn’t move in 20 minutes, the system will automatically turn off the engine.
There are attractions on BMW’s SEMA stand. The list involves a MotoGP M2 safety vehicle. Also a BMW Individual 740e xDrive iPerformance and one of the five 3.0 CSL race cars campaigned by BMW of North America in the 1975 & ’76 IMSA Camel GT Series in Group 4 specifications.
