Honda unveiles new Civic Type R with Black Edition

The Honda Civic Type R is finally coming to the United States this year. Just the car we will get is a bit different from the Civic Type R which is less than two years ago launched otherwhere. That Civic Type R is made like  the previous-generation Civic Hatchback that was sold out of the U.S.. Honda has officially confirmed the end of production.

To celebrate the vehicle’s short run, the last 100 examples for building were changed into a special edition model that is called the Civic Type R Black Edition. What’s unique to the car are red end plates on the rear wing and the inside that’s mostly black and accentuated with a few extra red elements. (Red is characteristiccolor of Honda’s Type R models.)

There are no changes on the powertrain

There are no changes on the powertrain. Turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-4 that delivers 305 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. Also made for the Civic Type R is a 6-speed manual and front-wheel drive. Honda says that it has a 0-62 mph time of 5.7 seconds and top speed of 167 mph.

All 100 cars are selling in the United Kingdom, which is the exclusive place of Civic Type R production.

As for the next Civic Type R, a final version will be unveiled later this year . Honda  confirmed that the vehicle, will have the Civic’s hatchback body style and also a 6-speed manual and front-wheel drive, just like its antecedent.
