Few weeks ago Google’s self-driving car project has grown into Waymo (an independent under-Alphabet enterprise ). Now it’s near to securing aone more partnership with another car producer which this time it is Honda.

Honda revealed that it is making plans for a deal with Waymo

Honda recently revealed that it is making plans for a technical deal with Waymo. It would have benefits from Waymo’s expertise in technology of autonomous driving. Contrary, Waymo would get access to Honda cars to test its software and equipment. Both of these companies have teams in Silicon Valley and will allegedly work with Honda engineers in Japan and Waymo. Staffers are based in Novi, Mich.

“This technical collaboration with Waymo could allow Honda R&D to explore a different technological approach to bring fully self-driving technology to market,” the automaker said in a statement.

Honda has been pretty silent about its autonomous driving developmening project. At the beginning of last year the company secured testing place at a Navy base in Northern California where it’s been judging self-driving technology inversions of an Acura RLX that have been modified . The test car has capablility of fully autonomous driving with lane changing and vehicle-2-vehicle communication.

We hope that the deal will go through. It would be Waymo’s second collaboration with a major car producerr. Earlier this year Waymo and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles put a deal to test on public roads 100 autonomous Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid minivans.
