Alfa Romeo GTV 2021 returns in style

Last Updated: December 10, 2020By Tags: , ,

The next Alfa Romeo GTV is on the program of launch in 2021, and the impression of our latest artist reveals what you can expect from the new Italian sports car. It presents itself as a more vivid rival to the BMW 4 Series, Audi A5 and Mercedes C-Class Coupe.

The GTV badge was last used on the 2 + 2 coupe with front-wheel drive 1994-2004, but the new one will be an abbreviated two-door version of the impressive Giulia saloon whose ‘Giorgio’ platform is also used for a good effect on the Stelvio crossover.

It is a welcome return to the two-door coupe segment from one of the most modern Italian car manufacturers. Be sure to let us know if you are evaluating the design direction by commenting below.

New GTV engines, specs

Precisely no one will be surprised to learn that the new Alfa Romeo GTV will use powertrains already seen elsewhere in the FCA range. The 2.9-liter V6 already used for the devastating effect in the Giulia Quadrifoglio will reappear, although it is hybridized here in a top-of-the-range halo model.

CAR magazine sources suggest that the V6’s power will be around 460 hp on the GTV, matched to the electric motor located between the V6 and the transmission to achieve a total system output of 530 bhp – and short bursts of up to 600 bhp +. In contrast, an electric range of just 30 miles will be available when operating in silent EV mode.
