At the begining of this week the producer presented some teasers and the first shot of the vehicle has seen beacuse of it’s leak on the Hyundai Blog website.

The current Sonata Turbo is sold in the United States as the Sonata Sport 2.0T

The photos show us a nice taste of what some of the updates will be. The leaked photo shows the standard Sonata, when both of the models, standard one and a Sonata Turbo, feature in the sketches. The current Sonata Turbo is sold in the United States as the Sonata Sport 2.0T.

The designers have took that pretty look from smaller Elantra and Accent for the updated Sonata, and he did almost the same treatments for the lights and grille. There will also be some tweaks inside in this update.

It’s unclear what mechanical updates will be done. There are rumors about that Hyundai might replace the current model’s 6-speed automatic with a new 8-speeder. Also that the Hyundai N performance division is making a new turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-4, so maybe a version of this engine could show up in the Sonata Turbo/Sonata Sport 2.0T.

The updated Sonata will be revealed in Korea by the end of march. It is not yet confirmed but a local presentation at the 2017 New York auto show this April is a strong is possible. In the showrooms will be available at the end ofthe year, as a 2018 model.
