This vehicle is still one of the best options for customers looking for a solid, mid-size SUV with strong off-road credentials, even though the design of Jeep’s current Grand Cherokee hasn’t  changed since it was first shown in 2009. Thanks to its SRT model, The Grand Cherokee is also one of the quickest off-roaders. Its only flaw is that it is limited to five seats, while some of its rivals have additional third-row seats.

Jeep has expanded the lineup for six more separate models. They include the Laredo, Limited, Trailhawk, Overland, Summit and SRT wich we mentioned before.

The Trailhawk and Summit are new for next year and they first showd up in March 2016 at New York auto show. Buyers who are looking for extra off-road capability target the Trailhawk, while those who seek luxury aim the Summit.

New Jeep has 475 horsepower

SRT packs a 6.4-liter V-8 that delivers 475 horsepower and 470 power feet of torque. In combination with an 8-speed automatic, the engine can make vehicle go to 60 mph in 4.8 seconds.

In the 2017 Grand Cherokee line up, other powertrains include 3.6 -liter V-6 with 295 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque., turbo sharged 3.0-liter V-6 diesel with 240 horsepower  and 420 pound-feet of torque and a 5.7-liter  V-8 with 360 horsepower and 390 pund-feet of torque. 8-speed automatic gearbox and also rear or four-wheel drive  is common for all powertrains.

Unfortunately, the Grand Cherokee which is equipped with the 6.2-liter supercharged V-8 known as Helicat won’t be available until the end of 2017. It will may be available only for one year and be called Trackhawk.

Jeep is, after that, expected to introduce its new generation of  Grand Cherokee.

Almost every model in the 2017 Grand Cherokee lineup highlight a slightly refined face primarly characteristic by the seven-slot Jeep grille that first showed up on a 75^th anniversary special edition Grand Cherokee launched 2015. Still, SRT gets totally refined front with extra intakes. The extra cooling is prepared for the before mentioned Trackhawk.

Prices for the 2017 lineup will be announced for the market launch in the fall.
